Help Tony achieve his dream

Come on, Tony! Robbie Williams tribute act Tony Lewis is one step closer to achieving his dream of performing as his idol in Las Vegas – but he still needs your help.

The 27-year-old from Leigh has made it through to the final of BBC TV's The One and Only, a talent show dedicated to tribute acts that is on tomorrow night.

And the Evening Post is backing him to win – by asking all our readers to "Vote For Tony."

He will compete against other tribute acts Dusty Springfield, Lionel Richie, Cher and Frank Sinatra in tomorrow's live final, which will see one lucky winner head to Las Vegas.

He will sing Millennium and Supreme and, if he gets through to the final three, will choose Let Me Entertain You as his favourite tune.

The former Bedford High School pupil is delighted to have come so far in the show.

He said: "I'm in the final so it's pretty overwhelming. I always wanted to get to the final but didn't think it would be possible.

"I've been lucky enough to work with David and Carrie Grant who have given me a lot of vocal tuition and I have learnt a lot and how to be a better singer and not just shout.

"With a bit of luck I'll win it and that would be great but, if not, it's onwards and upwards. I would carry on regardless.

"I have a week's holiday next week and head back to my first gig at the end of February. There's plenty of work out there. Until we know what's going to happen, we can't plan ahead."

Tony began his rise to fame while on an annual trip to Blackpool with Leigh Athletic FC when he entered a karaoke competition and picked up the 1,000 top prize in 2002.

He has been wowing audiences ever since with his striking resemblance to the Stoke-on-Trent star.

He said: "I want to thank all the people from Wigan and Leigh for keeping me in."

To support Tony, watch The One and Only on BBC One tomorrow at 7.30pm and 9.40pm.
