Homes evacuated after gas pipe scare

FIVE houses were evacuated in the early hours of this morning after a car crashed into the corner of a house rupturing an external gas pipe.

The accident happened in Tyldesley Road, Atherton, The driver was taken to hospital and the road was closed for around three hours.
