Kids ... you're hired!
Sir Alan Sugar would have been very proud ...
A Wigan primary has staged a summer fair with a difference.
Children at Britannia Bridge in Lower Ince turned the popular annual occasion into an Enterprise Day where every class was given a cash budget to see which could make it grow the most.
Organised by our Britannia Bridge Entrepreneurs, the fun event formed part of an enterprise competition between all the classes.
Head Damon Donaldson explained that each class had a budget of 25.
Today each class will present their projects in a special assembly to the whole school.
He said: "The winning class decides as a class how they will spend it.
"They may choose to give it to a charity, buy something for their class or even invest it in future ventures."
Britannia Bridge children demonstrated many ways to make money at the fair, such as raffles, arts and crafts stalls and "throwing custard and jelly at the headteacher!"
One class decided to design a new Frederick's Ice Cream before selling it to the community.
Mr Donaldson said: "All these and much more enterprising business ventures have come from the children, are organised by the children and led by the children. The benefits to our pupils are amazing."
