M6 crash biker dies
A motorcyclist has died following a road traffic collision on the M6.
The emergency services were called at 9.30am on Thursday after a motorcyclist lost control and hit the central reservation between junction 25 at Ashton and junction 26 at Wigan.
The motorcyclist suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at Wigan Infirmary.
No other vehicles are believed to be involved.
The M6 motorway is currently closed northbound from junction 25 to 26. A partial reopening is expected shortly.
Highways Agency Traffic Officers are also on the scene helping to manage traffic and the North West Regional Control Centre at Newton has also set signs advising drivers.
