Man fighting for his life
A MAN is fighting for his life following a dramatic house fire.
Michael Dean, 49, known by friends as Mick, is in a critical condition after being rescued from his heavily smoked-logged home, in Sefton Road, Bryn, which he shares with his wife Tina, and 10-year-old stepson, on Sunday.
Neighbours tried to rescue him, but were forced back by smoke, and had to wait for fire crews to arrive.
They carried him out, and paramedics resuscitated him on the lawn outside for 30 minutes.
Mr Dean’s wife, who had been out of the house with her son at the time, arrived to find her husband lying on the ground, surrounded by paramedics.
He was taken to Wigan Infirmary, suffering from severe smoke inhalation, and is still in a critical condition.
