Millward mourning death of son
Ian Millward
FORMER Wigan Warriors and Leigh Centurions coach Ian Millward was today mourning his teenage son Robbie.
The 19-year-old died after he suffered a heart attack yesterday morning. He was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital where he died later in the evening.
The young man’s sister Katie said on Twitter this morning: “Our son and brother has past away from an unexpected heart attack.
“We love him and miss him and thank you for your kind words.”
Castleford Tigers, where Mr Millward is now head coach, has released a statement offering condolences.
It said: “The club is shocked and deeply saddened by the death yesterday of Robbie Millward, son of Tigers head coach Ian Millward.
“All our thoughts are with Ian and his family at this sad time.”
