Pupils urged to be creative

Schoolchildren across Wigan are being urged to get creative this half term.

And their parents are encouraged to get involved too.

The greetings card company Hallmark has launched a national photography competition which is giving people the opportunity to see their own design in shops up and down the country.

Backed by designer and artist Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, the company is searching for an image that best represents motherhood.

The winner will see their design produced as a card.

The competition is open to everyone in the UK – from children to adults and complete novices to budding photographers.

Pictures can be captured on anything from mobile phones to the latest high tech digital cameras and can be submitted from now until February 27.

Submissions will be judged in two age categories, up to 17 and 18 plus. The winners will be announced on Mother's Day and will get 1,000 worth of photo equipment.

The winning images will be captured on a Mother's Day card. To enter go to www.hallmark.co.uk
