Twisted text hoaxer tortures dad

A VILE hoaxer is torturing a Wigan dad with beyond-the-grave messages from his late daughter.
In sickening acts of cruelty, a number of texts have been sent to Robert Campbell on his mobile purporting to be from his beloved Phillipa who died in a road smash two and a half years ago.
One taunts him by saying she is cold and that he can’t cuddle her, another begs forgiveness for the driver who killed her.
Appalled police have launched a major investigation and today appealed for anyone with information to get in touch. A devastated Mr Campbell said he couldn’t believe that anyone was capable of such callousness.
It is the latest blow to rock the 52-year-old, his wife Susan and 26-year-old son Lee.
They lost Phillipa in the small hours of Thursday, August 28, 2009 after she fatefully allowed friend Robert Johnston to take the wheel of her new MG TF.
A court heard that the vehicle was travelling at between 70 and 80mph before the then 21-year-old Johnston lost control of it at Skew Bridge on Warrington Road, Newtown. The car hit a kerb, struck fencing with devastating force and crashed into a garden wall more than 70m further down the road.
Police told Mr Campbell that Phillipa was dead on arrival at hospital although medics did continue in vain to try to save her at Wigan Infirmary.

Monday, February 20, 2012 at 07:04 PMAs it has been said before - The Texter has not got phillipa's phone - the only thing you need to send a text via a website like CBF.com or even o2 free text service is the senders mobile number. The text was send via a computer.... it is obviously somebody linked to Rob Johnston in some way - why would anybody else plead for his forgiveness??? RIP Phillipa my friend..... xxxx

Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 10:10 PMAs a mate of Robs I would like to point out the sick text messages where sent to his phone from a computer, the police were informed after the first text was recieved. As there was an ongoing investigation it is only now that the police gave permission to go public. In answer to Muphio's comment the police had Robs phone and why should he get rid of it! Phillipa's phone along with the rest of her belongings from that night were returned to her parents. The sick twisted individual who sent theses texts should be ashamed of themselves Phillipa's family are suffering enough! babeegrl19- Burying your daughter is far more traumatic than having a son do a short spree in jail for taking a life due to HIS dangerous driving 80mph in a 30mph zone. He can carry on with his life when released - Phillipa was robed of her life and her families lives will never be the same.

Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 06:38 PMbabeegrl19, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that phillipa's phone could have been inadvertently given to johnstons family along with his belongings - they were travelling in the same vehicle, and the nature of the messages doesn't point to a member of the campbell family being responsible - does it?

They might not be suffering the loss of the son, but they are still suffering with their child in jail. If these texts were sent in november why are they only bringing up this subject now when were in feb? When someone dies, their possesions are given to their family or next of kin so the campell family must have it, (not saying that someone from their family have done this) but leave the johnstons alone and get on with your own lives!

Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 05:39 PMcall me a cynic if you like , but johnston was sentenced to 5 and a half years in may 2010 so later on this year he will be eligible to apply for parole, so maybe the sick individual who is doing this believes what they are doing will sway the campbell family not to object to his early release ? i know that certain members of the johnston family think that 'the lad had done nothing wrong' and that it all should have been dropped at court, so who knows ?

Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 02:49 PMCowboy you took the wordsright out of my mouth, this also happened to an old lady who lives in our street who worked as a "carer" who robbed the OAP of all her post office savings also for drugs and the Police didnt even prosecute! Someimes I see this woman in Wigan and would just like to skulldrag her all over the flags. Also hope they find out who is responsible for this sick outrage!
