Warning after pupil is followed by van

YOUNGSTERS at a Wigan school were warned to be on their guard this week after a pupil claimed a van followed her on her way home.

Police were called in after the Golborne High School student said the man got out of the vehicle and approached her on Warrington Road in Abram on Monday evening.

Teachers at the school relayed a message around to the students about the incident, warning them to stay safe while out and about

A police spokesman said they are treating the incident as suspicious.
