Leap Year offer at Little Fifteen of a free wedding reception for any woman who goes down on one knee and asks her man to marry her on the 29th of Feb

LADIES get ready ... and you’d better not miss out, as it’s your last chance for another four years!

In just a few weeks it will be your chance to get down on one knee.

And anyone who pops the question in any Number Fifteen pub or Harry’s Bar, and gets a ‘yes’ from their unsuspecting boyfriends on February 29, will have their wedding reception given to them by pub bosses.

Lisa Langton, who works for the pub company which owns all five boozers, said: “We wanted to give the girls the opportunity to make their mark, and show the borough that romance isn’t dead.

“Not only is it going to be great fun, but everybody needs a bit of help at the moment when cash is tight, and it’s not that people don’t want to get married, but perhaps they just can’t afford to. So this is our way of helping.”

In total, five wedding receptions will be handed out, one at each of the pubs, Number Fifteen in Swinley, Ashton and Pemberton, Little Fifteens and Harry’s Bar in the town centre.

The offer will work on a first-come-first-served basis, so anybody who can confirm that their proposal has been accepted, and can later show proof of a ceremony being booked, will win the prize.

Lisa said: “Everybody knows how expensive weddings can be, especially the reception side of things, so that’s where we come in.

“Each of the pubs have their own identity, and the receptions will tie in with that, like at Little Fifteens there is a big emphasis on good food, so there will be a sit-down meal for the reception held there.

“But Harry’s Bar is more a drinkers’ pub, so those who win a reception there can expect a really good knees-up, and those who win at the Pemberton pub will want a day with lots of community spirit.

“It is a good idea for anybody considering proposing on February 29 to know the pub they are doing it in, because each of them have different vibes and different personalities.”

Following any successful proposals, pub bosses will sit down with the lucky couples to discuss arrangements for their big day, and will work with them to help create their perfect day.
