Alert over stalker incidents

News story

News story

PARENTS are urged to keep an extra eye on their children after the police issued two stranger danger alerts in Wigan.

One involved a 12-year-old girl who was leaving Shevington High School at 3.30pm on Wednesday with two friends.

A man driving a white van had parked up on Shevington Lane beckoned the group over. They ignored him, left and family later contacted the police.

And at around 4pm that day, children reported being approached by a man who made inappropriate comments at Norley adventure playground, in Lamberhead Road.

The man is described as being white but with tanned skin, between 35 and 50 years old, bald, possibly with a grey moustache, of a skinny build, average height and wearing black trousers with yellow or orange stripes, white trainers, a black jacket and a red and white top.

Anyone who recognises this man to call police immediately on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

It is not clear if there is more than one person responsible.
