POLICE are appealing for information after jewellery was stolen from a Wigan home.

Sometime between 2pm Saturday 12 July 2014 and 12.20am on Wednesday July 16, offenders broke into a home on Chorley Road, Standish.

They searched the house and stole jewellery, including rings, bracelets and earrings, alongside money and a camera before leaving.

Police Constable Alan Crabtree said: “The homeowner had been away and is understandably devastated to return home and find the house had been broken into. “We believe at some point they have used a ladder as one was found in the back garden. We have also had a report of two men being seen at around 10.10am with a ladder at the house on the 14 July.

“I would ask anyone who may have seen these men or witnessed anything suspicious in the area between the two dates, to contact police.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
