Big fine for flashing a woman

Crime story

Crime story

A MAN was fined more than £1,000 for exposing himself in public.

John Pendlebury, 28, of Clifford Street, Leigh, was found guilty of exposure following a trial at Wigan Magistrates’ Court and was given a nine-month community order and a curfew for six weeks.

He was also ordered to pay £500 compensation, £500 costs and a victim surcharge of £60. Prosecuting, Katie Beattie, said that the victim, who knew Pendlebury, was too scared to walk on her own after the incident on October 11 last year. Ruth Peters, defending, said Pendlebury, intended to appeal the guilty verdict.
