Cows saved by fire crews after blaze ravages farm buildings
Crews from Wigan, Skelmersdale, Ormskirk and Tarleton tackled the fire at agricultural buildings on Bannister Lane, Bispham Green, near Parbold, last Friday evening.
They used a hose reel, a jet and two ladders to extinguish the flames and were at the scene for two and a half hours.

Hide AdThe fire teams’ actions helped save a large herd of cows which were accommodated in a barn at the time. The cause of is under investigation.
The fire came in the same weekend that tragedy struck at a farm in Land Gate Lane, Bryn. Three lambs died after one upended a heat lamp causing a blaze in the shed where they were being housed. The farmer led 20 more lambs to safety.
