A BRAVE teenager paralysed in a swimming accident on holiday has reached a major milestone after arriving home from hospital.
Cory Peyton is settling back into life with his family after being discharged from a specialist spinal unit in Southport where he has been receiving treatment since the accident in Portugal in July.
He has currently recovered some movement after fracturing two vertebrae in his back, and is continuing to defy medical expectations with the rate of his progress.
His mum Michelle described the family’s joy at having Cory, 15, at home and says he will now spend around a month with them before moving on to the next stage of his recovery.
Michelle, 43, said: “It’s wonderful to have him home. It is absolutely lovely doing things like watching TV and having a brew together. It makes you realise how lucky you are and how much you just take for granted being at home as a family.”
