FURTHER job losses are on the horizon for Wiganers as another high street store enters administration.
Music and DVD retailer HMV, which has a town centre outlet in the Grand Arcade, announced plans to appoint Deloitte as their administrators late on Monday night.
The firm has 239 stores in the UK with more than 4,000 staff likely to be made redundant in the coming weeks.
A HMV statement said: “The board regrets to announce that it has been unable to reach a position where it feels able to continue to trade outside of insolvency protection and in the circumstances therefore intends to file notice to appoint administrators to the company and certain of its subsidiaries with immediate effect.”
Stores will be kept open an unknown period while administrators assess their options and seek potential buyers.
