A WIGAN teacher who was caught drunk behind the wheel of her car FOUR times in as many months was today behind bars.

In-demand supply teacher Louise Redmond wept in the dock as a prosecutor detailed each of the four offences - which were all committed between August and December last year.

Wigan Magistrates’ Court heard how the 39-year-old, who received a suspended sentence for drink-driving back in 2010, was found drunk in charge of her Mercedes on August 4 last year.

Mike Ardern, prosecuting, told how police were called after Redmond’s vehicle collided with a parked car in the Wigan Infirmary car park at about 4pm.

When officers arrived at the scene the engine of the Mercedes was still running and they could smell liquor on the defendant’s breath.

Doctors then took a blood sample which showed a reading of 298 milligrammes of alcohol per 100ml of blood. The legal drink drive limit is just 80.
