A MAN has been charged as part of an investigation into child sexual abuse at a primary school in Wigan.

Nigel Williams, 50, of Bradshaw Street, Orrell, has been charged with 18 sexual offences against children.

The boys were aged between nine and thirteen at the time of the offences.

He is due to appear at Wigan Magistrates Court on Tuesday, April 8.

In November 2013 Greater Manchester Police were contacted by a man, who reported that he had suffered sexual abuse while a pupil at Pemberton Primary School between 2001 and 2004.

As a result of police enquiries two further men reported being sexually assaulted while at Wigan swimming baths during the same period. Pemberton Primary School was demolished during 2006.
