A WIGAN stag do prank turned sour for a groom on Friday night after he ended up needing help from firefighters.
The 24-year-old had been out in town and his friends had put handcuffs on him.
Unfortunately, he found he couldn’t take them off at the end of the night – and at around 4am (April 12) Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service was called to assist.
Crew Manager Tony Callaghan said: “Over the course of the night the handcuffs had got banged so they had got tighter and tighter and he was in considerable pain. We had to use a cutting tool to cut them off which was quite a delicate operation and needed a steady hand.
“It took about 45 minutes and was painstaking, we had to do it a bit at a time as the handcuffs were on so tightly and we were also trying to protect him from the sparks.”
