DETECTIVES are appealing for information after objects were thrown from a moving vehicle causing injury to three people.

Officers were called to Main Street, Billinge, at 7pm on Thursday.

A man in his 50s was lying unconscious on the pavement, emergency services attended and the man was found with a small puncture wound to the side of his head.

It is believed a small object was thrown at the victim from a moving silver Vauxhall Astra. The man was taken to hospital.

Police were later called at 7.10pm to College Street following a report that small objects had been thrown at two youths walking along the street.

One of the youths, aged 15, suffered a facial injury that required hospital treatment.

Police were later called to Church Road, Haydock, at about 9.30pm following a report from a member of the public that an object had been thrown at them whilst walking along the street.

Officers then received a further report of a boy being struck with an object thrown from a silver Vauxhall Astra whilst walking along Crow Lane East at about 10.15pm.

The victim suffered a bruise to his face following the incident.

A full investigation into the incidents is under way and officers are checking CCTV from the area and speaking to witnesses in a bid to identify the people responsible.

It is believed all four incidents are linked.
