A MAN who was stabbed following a late night fracas remains in a stable condition.
The 36-year-old was found lying in the road in Castle Street in Tyldesley by shocked residents at around 10.40pm on Saturday evening and was rushed to Manchester Royal Infirmary after neighbours alerted emergency services having heard cries for help.
Police confirmed that the victim received a puncture wound to his chest.
A 46-year-old woman was arrested by officers at the scene on suspicion of wounding.
And she remains in custody at the time of going to press while Greater Manchester Police continued with their inquiries into the incident, which happened near the Aldi supermarket. She has not been charged.
