A SIXTY-FOUR year old woman is fighting for her life in hospital after colliding with a van in Wigan.
It happened as the she was crossing Sydney Street at its junction with Davies Street in Platt Bridge, Wigan, sometime between 6pm and 7pm on Friday, January 31.
As she was crossing the road, she collided with a van which can only be described as being a white Transit type with ladders attached to the roof and writing on the side as the van turned right from Davies Street onto Sydney Street.
The woman suffered a head injury.
The collision was seen by another pedestrian, a woman, believed to be a local resident who did not leave her details.
On Sunday, February 9, the woman fell ill at her home address and was admitted to hospital where it was established she had suffered a serious head injury.
She remains in hospital in a critical condition.
Police are now appealing to the woman who witnessed the collision, the driver of the van or any other potential witnesses to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4745.
