THE young admin manager of a Wigan PPI claims firm, who diverted almost £100,000 of compensation payments into her own bank account, spent some of her ill-gotten gains on breast enhancement.

Louise Hitchen claimed her offending began when she secretly transferred £3,000 funds to her own bank account to pay for an abortion but then greed took over.

The 27-year-old’s spending spree, which followed a downward spiral into drink and drugs abuse, also included a car, holidays to Ghana and Ireland, clothes and on-line shopping.

By the time it came to light Liverpool Crown Court heard that she had made off with £93,000 which resulted in expansion plans by the firm being shelved and 10 members of staff laid off.

Jailing the single mum of one for 12 months, Judge Robert Warnock said that an immediate prison sentence was inevitable.
