Wigan Athletic fans have until Friday evening to win a signed shirt and boots by sponsoring Emmerson Boyce’s wife as she cycles to Blackpool for Joseph’s Goal.
Lucy Cachia-Boyce will be cycling 42 miles from Wigan to the seaside resort to raise funds for research into and better treatments for NKH (Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia) - a rare, life-limiting disorder.
And she is offering anyone who sponsors her the chance to win a shirt and boots signed by Emmerson.
Entrants have until 5pm tomorrow (Friday) to register, with two winners picked by the former Latics player.
Lucy said: “As the charity’s ambassador I have always wanted to take part in the bike ride but it has never been the right time.
“Since Emmerson left Wigan to join Blackpool I thought this is a better time than any to participate.
Joseph Kendrick will always hold a special place in our hearts. He’s a fighter with amazing spirit
“I’ve been equipped with all the gear, a decent bike, which I’m still adjusting to. I have not ridden a bike for a good distance since I was in my teens, and I have not done as much training as I should have done.
“I’m really not quite sure how I’ll get on but I’m prepared to face the reality of it.
“I’m honoured to be an ambassador, along with Emmerson, for the charity and Joseph Kendrick will always hold a special place in our hearts. He’s a fighter with amazing spirit.”

For a chance to win either a signed shirt or signed boots people need to send the answer to Lucy’s question - How many times has Emmerson Boyce been loaned out in his entire career? @BoyceyWifey on Twitter. Deadline is 5pm Friday.
Lucy added: “We want to give something back to Wigan fans as we are very close to the club and anything that raises awareness for Joseph’s Goal is fantastic.”
