THE inquest into Jade Anderson’s death took a dramatic twist when key witness Beverley Concannon did not turn up to the hearing.
It was later revealed that Concannon had been admitted to the Royal Oldham Hospital where she was kept in for assessment.
Having already adjourned the inquest on three previous occasions, the coroner, Alan Walsh, was reluctant to adjourn for a fourth time.
Mr Walsh told the court that Concannon’s situation would be monitored. And given that two other witnesses had travelled from Cornwall and Folkstone respectively, he said the hearing should proceed, as far as possible.
Mr Walsh eventually adjourned the hearing till this morning to see whether Ms Concannon could attend court.
The hearing was expected resume today, when Concannon was expected to give evidence.
