Man accused over BB gun shooting

A man has been accused of a firearm offence after shots were fired at a pub.

Stuart Alexander, of Drummond Way, Leigh, was charged by police with two counts of causing both grievous and actually bodily harm as well as of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

The 56-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before a Bolton Crown Court judge on May 26.

It was shortly before 8.40pm on Wednesday April 26 that police were called to the Brewery Inn in Leigh’s Brewery Lane to reports that shots had been fired.

On arrival, officers discovered two men who had suffered minor injuries and were treated by paramedics.

Police later recovered a BB gun in relation to the incident.
