A MAN has been arrested after a shot was fired in Wigan.
A 20-year-old man remains in police custody for questioning after being arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, section 18 assault and criminal damage.
Three men in an old shape, dark coloured Audi car approached a 24-year-old woman who was walking on Rutland Road, Tyldesley, at 3.05pm on Saturday, August 10. A fourth offender stayed inside the vehicle.
The woman was hit on the head with a hammer, but she only suffered superficial injuries. The men walked to a house on Rutland Road, where a shot was fired into a ground floor window, causing damage.
It is believed the men also used a hammer to cause damage to a car outside the address. They then drove off on Shakerley Road towards Tyldesley Road. Anyone with information should call the police on 0161 856 7225.
