Man attacked outside takeaway

A MAN sustained a fractured eye socket after he was attacked outside a takeaway, in Altrincham.

At about 3.10am on Saturday 7 March 2015, a man was waiting for a taxi outside a takeaway on Railway Road when several men approached him.

They knocked him to the floor and repeatedly punched and kicked him in the head, before running away towards the train station.

As a result of the attack the 24-year-old victim received a fractured eye socket.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the assault.

Detective Constable Sonia Johnston of South Manchester division said: “This unprovoked act of mindless brutality left a man with a fractured eye socket, not to mention the emotional trauma he suffered.

“I would urge people to look at this image carefully and if you think you recognise this man, please call us.”
