A WIGAN man has denied smashing a window and causing £450 worth of damage.
Derek Somers formally denied a single charge of criminal damage before Wigan Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Prosecutors allege the 48-year-old, who appeared from custody having been held in police cells overnight, smashed a window belonging to Paula Goldstein on August 6.
But Colin Rawson, defending, said there initially appeared to be some inconsistencies in the victim’s version of events.
The case against Somers, of Broom Road, Worsley Hall, was listed for trial on the afternoon of September 19.
He was granted unconditional bail until that date, but warned that the case could be heard in his absence if he fails to attend.
