A WIGAN man has been charged with a catalogue of vile sex offences involving children and adults spanning almost 10 years.
Paul Hitchen is accused of 29 crimes including six counts of rape, 10 of causing a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity, two counts of sexual assault on a girl under 13 and one of false imprisonment.
Other charges include a serious sexual assault on a woman, four counts of sexually assaulting a woman over 16, indecent assault on a woman over 16, causing actual bodily harm, common assault, observing a person doing a private act and causing a child aged 13 to 15 to watch an image of sexual activity.
All incidents are dated between December 2002 and December 2011. He entered no plea at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The 34-year-old of Pemberton will return to Liverpool Crown Court on August 20. He has been released on unconditional bail.
Police asked the Wigan Evening Post not to publish a more detailed address for Hitchen for his own protection.
