Man found with stab wounds

The emergency services were called to Alexandra Road, in Ashton, at 6.20am on Friday to help the 77-year-old man.

His injuries were said to be "substantial".

A police spokesman said: "The man was taken to hospital. There were no suspicious circumstances."
