A MURDER investigation has been launched following the death of a young woman in Wigan.
Police are quizzing a 23-year-old man over the death of the unnamed victim, 20.
They were called to an address in Cameron Place, Worsley Hall, at 2,15pm on Sunday afternoon after receiving reports that the woman had been injured.
She was taken by ambulance to Wigan Infirmary but medics were unable to save her.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
Supt Wayne Miller said: “It is always tragic when a young person loses their life suddenly and it is understandable that some people in the community will be concerned.
“We are also appealing for witnesses and for information. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
