POLICE have found two Wigan teenagers who went missing last weekend.

School friends Adriana Szczerepa and Vanessa Goncalves, who are both 16, left their Wigan homes last Saturday.

And apart from a text message that evening, their concerned parents hadn’t heard from them since.

Thankfully though the pair, who are ex-pupils of St John Fisher Catholic High School, were found by Merseyside Police in Huyton.

A huge search was launched this week to find them, with their parents saying there were no obvious signs they had planned to run away.

The two girls, who attend Winstanley College and Wigan and Leigh College, sent text messages on Saturday evening. Both told their parents that they were okay and told them not to worry.

Local residents confirmed they had seen two girls matching their description as leaflets were distributed around Huyton earlier this week.

The Evening Post was contacted by the parents in the early hours to confirm they had been found safe and well.
