A MISSING teenager has been found concealed in the loft of a Wigan property after being tracked down through the “perseverance and tenacity” of local police officers.
The 14-year-old, who had been reported missing by Lancashire Police earlier this month, was brought out of a house on Marsh Green in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Two people have been arrested in connection with the case on suspicion of child abduction – a 31-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man - and have been bailed pending further police enquiries. The teen – who was described as being safe and well after being discovered - is now under the care of social services.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police told the Evening Post that the missing girl had been found as a result of extensive and diligent police work.
They said: “We carried out this operation having worked alongside – and with information obtained by – our colleagues at Lancashire Police.
“Our officers conducted enquiries at a number of addresses across the borough and it was through a lot of perseverance, tenacity and ingenuity displayed by our officers that the girl was tracked down to the address where she was found.
“The main thing is that she was found safe and well and is now under the responsibility of our relevant care partner agencies.”
