MOTORISTS in Wigan have been hit by a second wave of delays on the M6 after a van crashed into the back of a lorry carrying a skip.
Within minutes of the motorway being cleared after a lorry shed its load of pallets, which caused long delays in both directions, the crash on the southbound carriageway near to Junction 26 occurred causing more tailback misery.
Drivers were stuck for over an hour as the clean-up operation began.
The incident is still ongoing with normal traffic conditions expected from 5pm.
