More help needed for poorly Naomi

She has touched your hearts – now two-year-old cystic fibrosis sufferer Naomi Farrington needs more of your help.

Naomi's Fight has struck a chord with Wigan Evening Post readers, who have so far helped raise more than 6,000 to buy special equipment to prolong the toddler's life.

Her family, including mum and dad, Sarah Prowse and Christopher Farrington, of Ince, is hoping to raise 20,000 to purchase a special compression vest from America, which will remove the need for gruelling manual physiotherapy sessions and cut down hospital visits, vastly improving Naomi's quality of life.

Sarah, said: "We just want to say a big thank you again, that's all we can say, it's overwhelming what people are doing. So many people are helping."

Tracy Morris, Naomi's aunt, who is heading the fund-raising, said: "We think it's amazing that so many people have taken this on board.

"Sometimes it seems as if it's all quietening down, but then something else will happen and it will all pick up again. It's a real rollercoaster."

One of the latest fund-raisers to be announced is a charity night at Higher Ince Labour Club, on Friday, May 23.

Marion Baldwin, secretary of the club, said: "We usually do a charity event each year and, after reading about Naomi, we decided this year we would do it for her."

Tickets are now on sale at 2 each.

If anyone would like to make a donation, cheques must be payable to 'Naomi's Fight'. Send them to Kristina Santus, Wigan Evening Post, Martland Mill, Martland Mill Lane, Wigan. WN5 0LX
