Mourners to 'attend' funerals ... via internet!

Mourners as far away as Australia will soon be able to take part in funerals at a British crematorium thanks to the internet, a council has said.

Broxtowe Borough Council in Nottinghamshire hopes the new technology will be installed by December and will enable people not only to view a service but give eulogies and readings online.

The cost of setting up a link for a relative or friend to watch a service is expected to be between 20 and 30.

Fibre optic cables are being installed at Bramcote Crematorium and the final cost of the scheme could reach 30,000.
