MYSTERY surrounds the cause of a fire that damaged a Wigan house.
Three fire crews from Wigan and Hindley were required to put out the blaze at a semi-detached bungalow on Allscott Way, Ashton.
Residents were evacuated from their homes as the shed where the flames are thought to have started was destroyed.
The fire also spread to the roof of the property, causing 10 per cent damage, fire officers said.
No-one was injured in the incident which occurred at just after 8pm on Monday.
Liquids in the shed such as paint, oil and petrol are thought to have been the cause of the fire but it is not known how they came to ignite.
