MURDER squad detectives are still appealing for information after a young Wigan man was fatally stabbed in the street.

The request for details came as the man accused of killing 24-year-old Ian Sudworth made his first appearance before a Crown Court judge.

Jonathan Marron, 21, of Stranraer Road, Marsh Green, is charged with murdering Mr Sudworth in the early hours of Saturday and of causing 18-year-old Gemma Smith actual bodily harm.

Mr Sudworth died from stab wounds inflicted near the BP garage on Scot Lane, Marsh Green.
