WIGANERS should welcome the new Transport Strategy that will be delivered to the public in summer.
Transport and everything that comes with it such as congestion, expensive travel and road rage has been reviewed by transport bosses through various focus groups, consultations and questionnaires.
In a bid to come up with a strategy that will benefit the town by 2026, Wigan Council is also working with rail, bus and freight partners to make the most of Wigan’s transport, to boost economic developments and increase health benefits.
A Transport Strategy within the borough of Wigan is much-needed and it gives encouragement and positivity to the town which has been plagued by congestion and travel issues for many years.
For once, residents, motorists, workers and business owners can feel safe in the knowledge that the local authority is devising a master plan off the back off crucial evidence and data collected from those people.
While the projects planned could be years away, but 2026 Wigan looks set to be revitalised.
