PUBS are disappearing from our townscape at a frightening pace.
Even the teetotallers amongst us must recognise that the ‘local’ still has a big role to pay in the life of our communities as a meeting place and focal point. Not to mention a place where the imbibing of alcohol can be done in a supervised and responsible way.
Sadly many pubs, after the breweries were ordered en-masse to sell them, were snapped up by so-called pub companies and the current lack of need for a planning application means they are now happy to sell them off as supermarkets. This must change.
