Two men were seen fleeing the wreckage of a car after it careered out of control and smashed into a parked vehicle.

The Volkswagen Golf collided with another car in Kitt Green Road, Marsh Green, shortly after 5am yesterday.

Witnesses, some of whom had stayed up to watch the referendum results unfold, looked out in time to see the occupants making off on foot.

They are described as two white males, between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall with dark hair. One was wearing blue jeans and a black jumper, the other was in a white shirt and grey shorts.

The road was blocked until almost 6pm before the wreckage was cleared and a recovery truck crew put down sand because of spilt oil and petrol.

It was not clear whether either of the VW occupants was injured or not nor, at the time of going to press, whether the vehicle was stolen.

Anyone with information is asked to ring police on 111 or Crimestopper on 0800 555111.
