A MAN was cut out of his car following a road traffic collision in Wigan.
Fire crews were called to Old Pepper Lane, at the junction of Robin Hill Drive, in Shevington Moor, at 10.30am, following reports a blue Ford Fiesta was involved in a collision with a silver Nissan Micra.
Firefighters used cutting gear to release the 73-year-old driver of the Nissan Micra and he was taken to ambulance, with suspected spinal injuries.
He was fully conscious and his injuries were not thought to be too serious.
The 84-year-old male driver of the Ford Fiesta escaped unharmed.
It was thought he had run into the back of the Nissan as it was waiting to turn into a side road.
Part of the road was blocked off, causing traffic to divert through Standish.
