The Two Left Feet Brewery has welcomed its first customers into the Kitchen Courtyard venue at Haigh Woodland Park showcasing craft beers, real ale and food for sharing.

The brainchild of AllGates director David Mayhall, the venue will eventually have a nano-brewery on site so patrons will be able to watch ales being made as they sup.

The current ground floor space will also be joined by a much larger upstairs area, with the completed facility eventually being rented out for functions as well as open to visitors to Haigh.

Mr Mayhall said: “This is very much about the beer and food offer up there. I’m still in negotiations with the council but we’re looking at beer tapas and sharing platters.

“We’re probably going to stick to drinkable session ales and hopefully once the lads get brewing we will be selling our own stuff there.

“The plant will be right next to the bar and effectively we’ve opened up the floor. People will be able to see from the bar directly through to the brewery.

“We’re also a dog-friendly venue, so quite a few pets are suddenly getting a lot more exercise than they have been.”

Mr Mayhall says he is gradually extending the opening times of the brewery and tap and is also running special events on the last Friday of each month with street food stalls on site.

Bar manager Sally Madely, who used to work at the Crooke Hall Inn, is leading the team and at least a couple of jobs are expected to be created as the venue expands.
