POLICE have released images of a man they want to speak to after a robbery at a bookmakers.

The robbery happened at 9am on Sunday at the Ladbrokes bookmakers on Gerrard Street in Ashton-In-Makerfield.

The manager of the shop was left shaken by the incident and police are appealing for any witnesses or information as to who is responsible

A man entered the shop and approached the counter. He then jumped over the counter and demanded money from the cashier, before fleeing with cash and making off down the side of the shop towards the car park of the Gerrard Centre and the in the direction of York Road.

The man is described as white, with a gaunt face, 5ft 10in tall, of medium build, and was wearing a dark blue ‘New York Yankees’ baseball cap, a light blue hooded top with white writing on the front, grey jogging bottoms, white trainers, and dark gloves.

Detective Constable Brendan Greally of Wigan division said: “The manager of the shop was left shaken by the incident and police are appealing for any witnesses or information as to who is responsible.

“We have released CCTV images in the hope that someone will recognise the man and if you do, I would ask that you contact police,”
