POLICE are hunting a man who is wanted in connection with a serious assault.
Khalid Ahmed, 36, of Wigan, was arrested in May 2014 in connection with a serious assault that took place on New Year’s Day on 2006.
He was due to answer bail in July 2014 but failed to turn up at a police station, and has been circulated as wanted.
The last contact he had with police was via his solicitor in August 2014 when he claimed he was in Libya to visit a sick relative and would be returning to the UK imminently.
It is possible he has returned to the UK, even the Manchester area, and failed to surrender himself.
The 2006 attack took place on Market Street in Wigan and resulted in a man being attacked and stabbed.
Police are now appealing to anyone who knows of Ahmed’s whereabouts to call them on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
