ANOTHER violent incident on Wigan’s premier nightclub street has left a second man fighting for his life within hours of the first.

A 60-year-old is in a critical condition in hospital, having fallen to the ground after an altercation in King Street in the early hours of Monday morning.

It follows a vicious attack on a 32-year-old old man in the Revolution Bar just yards away on Saturday night. Two men were arrested in connection with that assault and bailed pending further inquiries.

This latest incident was reported to police after the casualty was taken to Wigan Infirmary with a serious head injury. It is believed he sustained it outside Chicago Rock on King Street some time around 1.30am and officers are now scouring seized CCTV footage for evidence.

It is believed the as-yet-unnamed man fell backwards onto the pavement.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Wigan CID on 0161 856 7770 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
