PUPILS baked cakes to raise money for a cancer charity.
Year nine students at St John Fisher RC High School organised a cake sale and raffle and raised £329 for Cancer Research UK.
Nadia Ratchford, who organised the entire event along with Olivia Hutchinson, Ameila Peet, Rebecca Clark and Chloe Jordan, said: “As well as a huge cake sale we also had a raffle with a number of prizes.
“Many different pupils and teachers donated prizes and cakes for us to sell. None of us expected to raise so much but we were very pleased we did.
“In June, five of us will take part in the Race for Life for Cancer Research UK.
“We are glad that our money will help improve research to beat cancer!”
