HAIGH Hall was transformed into a sea of pink for the annual Race for Life event.
More than 1,600 girls and women, ranging from babies in prams to pensioners took on the three-mile course winding through the picturesque country park to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The participants were divided into three groups, runners, joggers and walkers, with the quickest runners taking less than 20 minutes to cover the five kilometres, and the final finishers completing the course in nearly an hour and 20 minutes.
Hundreds of runners wore outfits showing who they were running for or accessories such as pink tutus, wigs and rabbit ears, while one group of young ladies took the idea of those battling cancer and the fund-raisers being heroes more literally than most and took part dressed as Wonder Woman.
