A BIKE-riding robber threatened to stab a teenager as he mugged her for a Wigan coffee shop’s takings.
Brandishing a serrated blade, the pimple-nosed thief ambushed the 18-year-old as she walked up Marsh Green from the Starbucks bar where she works.
The offender blocked her path, at which point the young woman noticed he was holding a black handled six-inch serrated knife.
The thief then threatened to stab her if she did not give him money, and then forcibly snatched her bag from her grasp.
He then rode off towards Hunter Road.
Uninjured but shaken, the woman then alerted the police, who are now investigating and appealing for witnesses.
Det Sgt Nigel Rigby said: “This young woman was stopped in her tracks and threatened at knifepoint by the offender, so you can imagine just how frightened she was.
“If you witnessed what happened, or perhaps recognise the offender from the description or were in the area that day and saw someone similar on a mountain bike, then please come forward as your information could be vital.”
The offender was said to be white with tanned skin, 6ft tall, of a muscular build and in his 30s. He was also said to have dark brown eyes, a pimple or spot on his nose and spoke with a deep, low voice. He was wearing black gloves, a black hooded coat that was pulled up to cover his hair which had black and grey fur on the inside.
